Abstract

This essay draws a distinction between 'pure' and 'naturalized' metaphysics in order to evaluate critically Bradley's conception of metaphysics as a pure endeavor uncontaminated by the results of empirical science.  Bradley's attempt to separate science and metaphysics leaves both in an impoverished state and especially the latter since it deprives itself of the most accurate knowledge we have at present.  [Abstract from The Philosopher's Index]
