Abstract

The original English version of an article "Whitehead and Alexander" published in a German translation by M. Hampe in "Die Gifford Lectures und ihre Deutung" herausgegeben Hampe und Massen, Suhrkamp, Frankfurt-am-Main 1991. A comparison of the metaphysics of the two philosophers as both claiming to be very general descriptions of pervasive features of reality extending outward form science.  Particular notice is drawn to their views of Space and Time, events, the mind-body relation, their realist epistemologies, and their views on values.  [Abstract from The Philosopher's Index]
