Abstract
The purpose of this article is to examine the salient aspects of Whitehead's view of creaturehood and to suggest the lines along which a fuller development of its religious dimensions might proceed. The article first considers how Whitehead does and does not envision God as creator, including problematic issues that have been raised. It then goes on to describe Whitehead's view of creaturehood in relation to his notion of creator. Finally, it explores creaturehood as a root metaphor and as image of God. The article concludes that Whitehead presents an incipient theology of creaturehood which requires fuller development and clarification. [Abstract from The Philosopher's Index]
