Abstract

Recent attempts to designate God as androgynous or gynandrous are undesirable because these terms are already used in systematic botany to designate spatial relationships or organization of sexual parts.  God should be envisioned in psychological terms and therefore to escape the biological implications of 'androgynous' and 'gynandrous', a neologism, thelarrheny, is suggested which means that God beautifully combines feminine and masculine traits such as tenderness, fruitfulness, and strength.  [Abstract from The Philosopher's Index]
