Abstract

Whitehead's philosophy, particularly his later work, offers the cosmological setting needed for a new philosophy of education.  Process philosophy, applied, complements pragmatism by distinguishing result from antecedent muddle in mathematics and exact science, and by stressing aesthetic appreciation as a needed supplement to traditional taxiomic disciple or pragmatic manipulation.  Whitehead's analysis of space and time have immediate classroom applications, and his giving feeling priority to form is a new needed correction.  Further application should be important and interesting.  [Abstract from The Philosopher's Index]
