Abstract

The aim of this paper is twofold: first, it wants to trace back some historical lines of thought from Whitehead to German idealism; secondly, it focuses on main concepts in Whitehead's philosophy that in this respect can be interpreted as the 'idealistic remains' in Whitehead.  Therefore it shows that Whitehead was influenced by Wordsworth, Coleridge and through their poetry, by Schelling.  This is illustrated by stating the similarities between Whitehead's and Schelling's philosophy of organism.  [Abstract from The Philosopher's Index]
