Abstract

This paper responds toWilliam Kaufman's comparison of the theologies of M. Kaplan and Alfred North Whitehead.  It argues that Kaufman is correct in viewing Kaplan as a pragmatist who has much in common with Whitehead but that he fails to note how Whitehead moved beyond the naive positivism inherent in Kaplan's thought.  [Abstract from The Philosopher's Index]
