Abstract

In some of Whitehead's early works, proposing an alternative formulation of Einstein's theory of relativity, he held that the spatial-temporal had to be uniform in order to provide a basis for knowledge.  This basis is discarded in Process and Reality because there Whitehead makes events discrete rather than continuous; and the antecedent nature of God becomes the basis for uniformity.  [Abstract from The Philosopher’s Index]
