Abstract
A model for revelation is proposed in analogy with the physical phenomenon of resonance. God provides each occasion with a spectrum of initial aims graded according to value. The occasion prehends these, the world, and its past occasions. To the extent that the occasion's final subjective aim is in accord with God's aim, there is a resonance which at the conscious level corresponds to that interpersonal communion which we call revelation.
