Abstract

H. P. Stapp's modified version of Bell's theorem, which has been offered as a proof that quantum mechanics is incompatible with the principle of local causes, is presented in non-technical form to facilitate the assessment of its significance for philosophy generally and process theology in particular.  Assumptions of the proof are examined.  A key issue is the status of possible outcomes of exclusive alternative experiments.  Objective status for these is hard to reconcile with quantum mechanics.  [Abstract from The Philosopher's Index]
