Abstract

Whitehead's theory of relativity is outlined within the context of a two-content philosophy of science.  I argue that all theories have both an explanatory and predictive content.  I proceed to contrast Whitehead's theory with Einstein's.  After a full description of Whitehead's explanation is given, I examine a debate concerning relativity physics and Whitehead's doctrine of God.  The participants in the debate neglect Whitehead's alternative discussing the issues within an Einsteinian context.  I conclude that process philosophers should re-examine the issues in light of Whitehead's alternative.  [Abstract from The Philosopher’s Index]
