Abstract

Current process views of God acknowledge divine freedom only within the constitution(s) of the primordial nature.  But this in effect identifies God's decisions for concrete particulars with his nontemporal decision for pure possibilities.  It is argued that a temporal aspect of divine freedom must also be recognized, consisting in the spontaneous intensity of God's affection for particular occasions.  This affective intensity governs how the divine primordial decision is effective within the world.  [Abstract from The Philosopher's Index]
