Abstract

Whitehead’s use of “The Subjectivist Principle” is confusing: His initial definition in the chapter thus entitled makes it equivalent to solipsism, which he rejects; yet he sometimes speaks favorably of the subjectivist principle. The possible merits and demerits of a “Reformed Subjectivist Principle” are thus entertained.
