Abstract

The perspective of Whiteheadian process philosophy, reflected in his educational thought, forms three phases theory as romance, precision, and generalization on education, which produces the direct and indirect influences on contemporary Chinese educational reform.  The creation and practice of Interdisciplinary Integrated Curriculum taking three factors science, aesthetics, and practice as the main line, integrating organically among disciplines based on 18 disciplines to the contemporary new curriculum reform of Chinese basic education, has inherent and corresponding relationship with Whitehead's educational ideal of three phases.  Its values consist in training students' integration of intelligence, creativity, practicality and general coordination of personality.  With the nature of science in interdisciplinary relations embodied by the logical model of Viewpoint Struture, that is some basic knowledge of realizing in one certain discipline as Viewpoint; The relevant knowledge points of this discipline in series with more, and form the inherent and logical structure line; Aesthetics, according to the charm of beauty everywhere, abundant humanities and potential scientific connotations, becomes the best logical motivation of integrated curriculum: Practice is the interlaced actions and behavior transformation of science and aesthetics.  Interdisciplinary integrated curriculum has already possessed corresponding texts as well as electronic teaching materials in audio and video form, including the courses, teaching plans and references, has been applied and tested in practice.
