Modern industrial civilization's mass destruction on agriculture has
resulted in very serious consequences. A new kind of postmodern
ecological civilization calls for sustainable agriculture with
harmonious coexistence between mankind and nature. The concept of
sustainable agriculture is for China to overcome drawbacks of modern
agriculture, to use a new line of thought to develop the western
region, in regard to the construction of socialism's ecological
civilization, possesses a positive and constructive significance. This
article aims to explore the connotations of sustainable agriculture and
its prospective application in China.
