Ye, Haiyan. "The Perspective of Process within Chinese Philosphy: A Case Study of Fan dongmei."
Abstract
The metaphysics integrated from
Confuciansim and Taoism result in the proposition "Tao is process".
I suggest that the Symbolic system I-Ching Tao can function as
guidance for the development of rationality, languages and minds,
asides from applying to the current existing world. Those
portfolios signify that the Tao as process actualizes the
art-and-culture essence given by the solicitude from mankind under the
metaphysical approach of Fong Dongmei.
In the last stage of the project, Fong Dongmei constructed his specious
philosophy with the guidance of such process, completing the ultimate
discipline debated by the Chinese philosophers over
centuries. The confirmed "metaphysical reality" plays a
quintessential role in our everyday cultural activities, realizing the
goals of all values and proving the similarities amid I-ching, Chuang
Tzu, T'ien-Tai and Hua-Yen philosophies.
In conclusion, the researcher discovers the mysteries unraveled by
Fong-Dongmei's integrated philosophy combining the bearings of Chinese
metaphysics, extracting the prospect of an all-around vision of
horizontal and vertical thinking based on Confucianism, Buddhism, and
Taoism. Such mysteries might transform into other models in
the future Chinese Philosophy and becoming the quest of searching for
the next procession for the researchers.
