Abstract
The essence of Daesoon
Thought consists of the tenets of Daesoonjinjihoe; Eumyanghapdeok,
shininjohwa, haewonsangsaeng, dotongjinkyong. The first tenet of
Daesoonjinrihoe, Eumyanghapdeok is the basis of the creeds, the purpose, the
instructions and rules of Daesoonjinrihoe.
Eunyanghapdeok explains the development of the history by
reconceptualizing the Eumyang thought. The literary interpretation of
Eumyanghapdeok is the creation of new harmony by integrating the virtues of Eum
(Yi) and Yang. The conversion from the relation of conflict to new harmony,
through integrating the mutual virtues, can induce the cosmos, nature and
human-beings into settlement and prosperity. To establish Eumyanghapdeok rightly, we must have the right
Yang and the right Eum (Yi). Under the repression of Eum and the respect of
Yang by the principle of mutual opposition (Sanggeuk), Yin and Yang cannot
integrate the individual virtue rightly and they only accumulate their
enmities. The expansion of enmities in the former Heavenly world is caused by
this repression of Yin and the respect of Yang. Thus, Eumyanghapdeok must be
done by the right Yin and the right Yang. The realization of Eumyanghapdeok by the right Yin and the
right Yang can be possible by the removal of enmities to overcome and mutual
opposition. To do so, we must appreciate mutual survival of helping others
positively in the first hand and the benefits of others sincerely, and we must
establish the respect for human-beings practically. The realization of
Eumyanghapdoek is very necessary to solve the various problems of the former
Heavenly world and to build the ideal world that the mankind has sought for.
