Takeda, Ryusei. “Some Thought on Nagarjuna’s Philosophy on the Light of Whitehead’s     Metaphysics.”  (Unpubl.)

Abstract

Whitehead’s analysis of ‘subject-superject’ is able to illumine Nagarjuno’s denial of self-existent reality.  Both concepts negate the existence of an independent subject prior to its experience, while affirming the reality of inter-dependent becoming.  Further, Whitehead’s analysis of the relation of God and the world can illumine the Buddhist understanding of Nirvana and Sansara.  Whitehead’s thought may be more applicable to a Buddhist, rather than Christian theology.
