Sheldon, Wilmon Henry. Rational Religion: The Philosophy of Christian Love. New York: Philosophical Library, 1962.

Abstract

This book aims to show that a supernatural religion - Christianity with its central teaching of universal love - is justified by pure straight reason. There is no gap, no gulf, between faith and reason, as has usually been assumed by the Christian churches. The main doctrines believed by them through the centuries are quite open to logical proof. Not all the doctrines indeed - reason demands that some of them be to a degree revised, and this book provides the revision.
