Schwaller de Lubicz, R. A. Nature Word: Verbe Nature. West Stockbridge, MA: The Lindisfarne Press, 1982.
Abstract
In this remarkable work, composed
immediately upon his return from Egypt in 1952, the noted French
esotericist and Hermetic philosopher R. A. Schwaller de Lubicz conveys
to modern consciousness insights derived from a lifetime experience and
study in the ancient and sacred traditions of humanity. His theme is
"the intelligence of the Heart," the innate, functional consciousness
or way of thinking which is in harmony with Nature and so able to
understand Life and living things. Made up of two sections, the first
written in a single, uninterrupted flow of inspiration, takes the form
of answers received in the spirit of synthesis - Nature's thinking - to
questions posed by the rational mind of the twentieth century. Herein
all aspects of Schwaller de Lubicz' symbolic philosophy, ethics, and
theology are given concise and detailed expression as a living way of
thinking - a science of evolution and Life - available to humanity
today. The second half takes the form of philosophical reflections on
the first and proposes the practice of Imagination as a way of
evolutionary development. Many traditions have spoken of a "higher
consciousness," but Schwaller de Lubicz' attempt to formulate in modern
terms an alchemical science of qualities, functions, analogies, and
signatures, is quite unique. "Nature has shown me a great mountain,
crowned with a peak of immaculate whiteness, but She was unable to
teach me the way leading to it. I had to seek beyond Her. It was a long
search..."
