Abstract

The value of the interaction between process thought, (A N Whitehead) and psychotherapy (Gestalt, Jungian, Ego, Family Systems) is described. Whitehead's concepts are shown to be illustrated in major theories and trends of therapy; e.g., concrescence and perception are correlated with Gestalt formation and Gestalt's self-modes. Dialogue can help process thought become more broadly understood and further developed. It can help therapy pursue a metatheory inclusive of body, self, psyche, spirit, and self-other.
