Abstract
Issue is taken with John Cobb's treatment of the relation of God and creativity in A Christian Natural Theology. Detailed analysis of the claim that God plays the decisive role in the creation of actual occasions shows that this conclusion is both unwarranted by the arguments and inconsistent with principles of Whitehead's philosophy which Cobb himself adopts. While God is necessary for creation and there are good Whiteheadian reasons for calling him the creator, he is not the decisive element. [Abstract from The Philosopher’s Index]
