Abstract

The Church should be seen not as a sacramental body or as a community of the elect but as a saving fellowship, which seeks to be a loving and healing community, oriented to the present and future in light of its heritage and appealing to the transforming presence of the life, ministry, and teachings of Jesus in the church as its basis.
