Peters, Ted, ed. Cosmos as Creation: Theology and Science in Consonance. Nashville: Abingdon Press, 1989.
Abstract
Current thinking regarding the relationship between science and theology is comprehensively explored in this collection of essays by many recognized leaders in the field. Cosmos as Creation fully examines all the significant topics currently on the frontier of science and theology: methodology, the big-bang theory, the second law of thermodynamics, relativity, creationism, and ecology. After an introduction to the relationship between theology and science, cosmology is discussed, focusing primarily on the big-bang theory in terms of the Christian doctrine of creation. Next, the place of the human being in evolutionary history is examined. Finally, the volume explores the human impact upon creation through petitionary prayer and ecological ethics.
