Abstract

Author argues that process metaphysics includes a notion of the self which is self-referentially incoherent. He argues for this thesis by advancing a Kantian-style epistemological argument to the effect that rationality presupposes an enduring self and this is what process metaphysics denies. Author also compares this epistemological argument with an ethical argument regarding unity of human ethical actions.
