Meland, Bernard Eugene.  “Art, Religion and the Cultural Mood.”  (Unpubl.)

Abstract

Science, religion and art are three ways of responding to the universe, all of which can be lived out in one personality.  In our time, art and religion have increasingly become dissociated from each other and from a culture in which the growth of science has gone hand in hand with loss of imagination.  Both great art and great faith go together as they attempt to transcend tragedy in human existence.
