Loy, David R. Review of Evil and/or/as The Good: Omnicentrism, Intersubjectivity, and Value Paradox in Tiantai Buddhist Thought by Brook Ziporyn. Philosohpy East and West 54, no. 1 (January 2004): 99-103.
Abstract
Ziporyn's monograph offers a detailed exposition and subtle defense of Siming Zhili's argument that good and evil are two labels for a single entity and that the perfect man is capable of both. Despite its somewhat problematic thesis, the book is immensely stimulating and deserves attention for the fruitful ways in which it raises important issues.
