Abstract

In "Process and Reality", Whitehead locates creativity, the power of activity, within the present, so that it simply wells up within the actual occasion.  In "Adventures of Ideas," it is derived from the past, a past previously held to be devoid of creativity.  I propose to derive creativity from the future, and identity it with the activity of God, who in diversity herself in the present provides the creative activity of the occasions.  [Abstract from The Philosopher's Index]
