Abstract
Estrangement and its opposite, the sense of integrity, are explored in the relationship of self with self, with other, with the environment, and with “the whole scheme of things.” If humanity has no value for the universe, then humanity has no value. The meaning of human life in relation to meaning in the universe is explored in terms of process philosophy.
