Abstract

The science of biology may be both a destroyer of cherished values and also a harbinger of a new approach to human purpose. But biology is dependent upon sources of insight that extend beyond biology and must use these if it is to help to mould the future of humanity. This problem is investigated from the perspective of evolution, population genetics, and ethology.
