Abstract

In A Christian Natural Theology, John B Cobb presents a Whiteheadian theory of personal identity which he argues is adequate to human experience.  I suggest that Cobb's argument, while important, incorrectly relates the resources it identifies.  I then attempt to sketch the interplay of memory, disposition, and intentional action as grounds for ascriptions of identity within the context provided by Whitehead's philosophy.
