과정신학은 화이트헤드의 “유기체 철학”을 바탕으로 하나님, 인간, 자연, 과학과 우주 등에 대한 다양한 질문을 총체적으로 대답하려는 신학이다. |

In 2008, the Korea Project has begun a study group of process thinking in relation to Korean Christians’ understanding of faith. It founded the “Process Thinking Society” (hereafter, PTS) with the aim of revitalizing Christian faith through Process theology. The PTS desires to answer questions that address urgent concerns such as world ecosystems, religion and society, and family life in the 21st century for Korean Christians in the midst of the global context. |
새롭게 출발한 코리아 프로젝트는 기독교 신앙의 전통속에서 과정사상과의 대화를 시도하기로 하여 과정사상 연구회를 만들게 되었다. 이 연구회는 기독교인으로서 신앙을 발전시키고 실천하기 위해서 과정신학에 대한 학습을 주 활동으로 삼고 있다. |
In order to have helpful, rational answers from a process perspective, the PTS conducts a monthly study session on process theology and philosophy. This is open to everyone who seeks an alternative Christian theology for the relevancy and adequacy of their faith perspective in this day. |

Korean Protestant Churches have been under critical scrutiny by various forces in society. Korean Churches have become ahistorical, anti-intellectual, fossilized in doctrine, individualistic, prosperity-oriented, chaplaincies for the status quo, not asking questions about various issues in theology and philosophy, or politico-economic injustice, social ills, gender inequity, poverty, and ecology. |

This sort of Christianity has failed to adequately read the scriptures and interpret them for the needs of rapidly changing times. Religious corruption, social poverty, broken family life, and environmental destruction are the havoc wrought by many failures, including outdated theologies and practices of Korean Protestant churches. |

In such a time, answers to multiple issues that Korean Churches have ignored are offered from the perspectives of Process theology and philosophy. God enters into the world in order to engage in dialogue with human beings. Moreover, God is in the world interacting with human and natural affairs. Panentheism is one of the most relevant aspects of the concept of God in process theology. Therefore, the incarnation of Jesus is a pivotal occurrence of God’s being with us. Human beings have responsibilities to respond to the world’s issues in an effort to be faithful partners in God's ongoing work of creating and saving the cosmos. God, creation and humans are interrelated, interconnected, and interdependent in a holistic and organic manner. Science and theology are not necessarily contradictory, but can compliment each other. |
예수의 성육신이야 말로 하나님이 이세상에 내재되어 있음을 몸소 실천한 하나님의 유기체적인 인간을 향한 응답이다. 인간은 이런 하나님의 몸소 오심에 참여하여 하나님의 역사에 대화하고 세계와 생태계에 일어나는 현상을 직시하고 새로운 눈으로 관계, 상생, 유기체적인 질문들에 종합적으로 대처해야 할 것이다. |
