Interpretations of Evolutionary Biology: Neo-Darwinism in Dialogue with
Lynn Margulis and Process Thought :: October 2004
We
believe it is possible to formulate and to publish a theoretical approach
that does justice to the evidence provided by the biological sciences
while interpreting them in a way that includes creaturely freedom and
divine purpose. This conference brought together orthodox Darwinian
biologists, evolutionary biologists who raise questions about the
neo-Darwinian synthesis, and process theologians.
Audience members were able to witness and participate in work
toward a new synthesis of scientific and religious perspectives.
