John B. Through the leadership of Dr. Cobb and others, the success of CPS has made “Claremont” synonymous with “process” for many scholars. Today, process studies is flourishing worldwide, with more than 45 process studies centers and nonprofits led by scholars on 6 continents.

Whatever decision you may make, we want to express our deep gratitude. You are investing in the work of process thinkers and their contribution to the common good when you support the John Cobb Legacy Fund.

Our Work in the World

The Center for Process Studies (CPS) works to promote a relational worldview and a commitment to the common good by conducting interdisciplinary research guided by the view that interconnection, change, and intrinsic value are core features of the universe. CPS conducts research and develops educational resources to develop integrated and holistic modes of understanding.

A planned gift to the John Cobb Legacy Fund is a lasting investment that furthers the work begun by John Cobb through:

  • Offering an alternative to the mechanistic model that still influences much scientific work and is presupposed in much humanistic literature.
  • Promoting a holistic view that integrates multicultural, feminist, ecological, inter-religious, political, philosophical, and economic issues.
  • Facilitating discussion between Eastern and Western religious and cultural traditions.
  • Offering an agenda on the social, political, and economic order that brings issues of human justice together with a concern for ecology.

In these and other ways, process thinkers hope to contribute to movements that foster the common good and your planned gift to the John Cobb Legacy Fund makes this vision a reality.

The John Cobb Legacy Fund is the Planned Giving Program created by the Center for Process Studies, the Cobb Institute, and the Institute for Ecological Civilization (EcoCiv) to further the work that Dr. Cobb began and inspired. EcoCiv serves as Trustee of the Fund on behalf of member charities.

At the broadest level, the Fund works for the common good by supporting organizations that expand the wellbeing of people and planet, transform human views of life and the world into one of interrelatedness, meaning, and cooperation, and promote holistic approaches in all spheres of human life that nourish the flourishing of all.
